Subject: Public Name Server
Is there such thing as a public name server? Whenever the name server where I
am goes down, I can't do anything, even though I have an ethernet card and I
should still be able to access the outside world. It seems like if there was
another name server to use, I could still use Winsock apps. So is there such
a thing?
Thanks,
Evan

Yes. Is your "Inbox" correctly defined ? and the temp variable properly
set ?

Subject: Internet VoiceChat - Final Status Report (good news)
Hello everybody,
I'm very happy to report that after a couple of long nights, Internet
VoiceChat, my Winsock program which allows live voice conversations over
the net, has passed its beta testing. Although the original release date
for version 1.0 was set for today, Saturday May 7, I was unable to finish
writing the help file at this time. I'm working on it now, and--this is
official--Version 1.0 of Internet VoiceChat will be publicly available as
shareware on Tuesday, May 10. The FTP sites will be posted here in
alt.winsock. (Originally I thought I was going to lose all FTP access for
the summer starting today, but I have found a way to do it, so there will
be no problems.)
All in all, I'm really excited about IVC. I think others will be, too. And
I'm thinking of a whole bunch of features to add to a second version over
the summer. Stay tuned here for details! Looking forward to Tuesday...
(Novell Lan Workplace For DOS (tm) users, make sure you have the most
recent WinSock patches.)

Also, if using WD drives, don't use the Disk Manager utility which came
with the drive. It is not compatible with 32 bit access.
